Year 1 Applications

Here at Euston Street we are committed to making the application process as clear and manageable as possible.

This page is dedicated to walking you through the process form beginning to end, providing you with key information about the process and linking you with various government resources. 

We know this process can appear daunting, we are here to help. 

 

Who can apply?

Children born on or between 1 April 2019 and 1 July 2019 (inclusive) and children born before 1 April 2019 but with a due date on or after 1 April 2019 whose parents deferred their admission to primary school in September 2023  

These children are required to apply for starting Year 1 in September 2024. Schools will treat these applicants in the same manner as all other Year 1 applicants.  

Children born on or between 2 July 2019 and 31 March 2020 (inclusive and whose due date was not after 1 April 2020) 

These children must apply for Year 1 admission in September 2024.

Children born on or between 1 April 2020 and 1 July 2020 (inclusive), and children born before 1 April 2020 but whose due date on or after this date.

Parents of these children can apply for Year 1 or they may decide to defer and apply for pre-school. They are not permitted to apply for both a pre-school and Year 1 place. See information on Deferral of School Starting Age 

How to apply?

The process of applying for a Year 1 place is now completed online, there is no alternative way to apply.

During the application process you will be required to make up to 5 choices of nursery or pre-school on a preference basis.
