We have a ‘good’ Nursery (ETI 2015) and our pupils

are provided with a rich variety of stimulating and

challenging activities. The focus is to allow a child

to learn at their own pace, gain a positive image of

themselves as learners and develop a resilience to

manage emotions and behaviours. Through play and

other experiences, the pupils have opportunity to

learn in the following curricular areas:

1. Language and Literacy – to include talking and

listening, reading and writing

2. Mathematics and Numeracy – focusing on the

development of mathematical concepts and

numeracy across the curriculum

3. The Arts – including art and design, drama and

understanding in geography, history and science

and technology

5. Personal Development and Mutual

Understanding (PDMU) – focusing on emotional

development, social skills, learning to learn,

health, relationships and mutual understanding in

the local and global community

6. Physical Education – focusing on the

development of knowledge, skills and

understanding through play and a range of

physical activities.
